Mangaluru: Covid pandemic control - Police commissioner, SP invite suggestions from public

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, May 8: The number of coronavirus second wave infection cases are increasing in the district every day. The district administration has implemented strict rules along with weekend curfew in the city.

It has become a challenge to manage the beds in the hospitals of the district as there is a rapid increase in the number of infected people. Now the city police commissioner N Shashi Kumar has sought suggestions from the citizens in a bid to control the spreading of the deadly virus.

On his official Twitter account, the city police commissioner tweeted, “Dear Mangalureans, please share your opinion with respect to following the guidelines already published by the government to control Covid-19 and also to further implement this in a good manner and prevent the infection.”

Shashi Kumar will be live on his official Twitter and Facebook account on Sunday May 9 from 11 am to 12 noon. Public can share their opinions in preventing the Covid pandemic second wave spreading. Superintendent of police (SP) Sonawane Rishikesh will also be present.

Dakshina Kannada district police has also tweeted, “If you need to report any Covid guidelines violation or you need to give some suggestions to make implementation of guidelines more effective, you may WhatsApp on number 9480805300.”

On the whole, a serious joint effort by the citizens and the district administration is required to break the chain of Covid pandemic.

Hello sir, thank you very much for your lead in hearing the public voice. 1. Please ramp up the vaccination process to break the chains of transmission of virus and reduce severe disease. Also include in your agenda strategies for the distribution of vaccine, creative ways to conduct mass vaccination drives without jeopardizing the public health measures, and advocate the public for vaccine uptake. Upon vaccination advocate the public not to let their guard down with all the public health mitigation measures (masking, physical distancing, reduce gathering, daily symptom screening, and regular testing) which is highly recommended. 2. Please advocate for appropriate public health practices during religious gatherings/ceremonies of all religions in the future. These are super spreader events for COVID-19 but can be prevented with careful participation in the events 3. Please include a good COVID-19 health and safety protocol for the health and well being of Kudla residents during the religious gatherings/ceremonies. ADVOCATE your COVID-19 emergency task force team in Kudla to consult religious leaders of all religions and prepare a protocol with SOLID GUIDELINES for every religious ritual by paying attention to fine details pertinent to each religion 4. I have recently watched a funeral ceremony of COVID-19 case in Kudla where the dead body was exposed to the public in the cemetery and the family was allowed to conduct specific rituals of veiling, toweling and flowering on the dead corpse without any PPE except masks. This gave me a panic attack. Please CONSIDER to include a safe funeral ceremony protocol for all religions 5. The PPE staff who bring the body for burial site is just a SHOWCASE. They absolutely do not have any training. Please include resources to train them with all the details specific to each religion’s funeral ritual. They absolutely do not have any handle on their tasks during the ceremonies which poses more COVID-19 health risk. I have noticed that the PPE staff were allowing the cemetery workers without any PPE to latch the casket and letting them lower the casket to the ground. What is the purpose of having PPE equipped staff?? THESE NON-CMPLIANT practices pose health risks not just at an INDIVIDUAL level but at the POPULATION level which is SERIOUS 6. The risk of COVID-19 infection is low from dead corpse but the concern here is: Possibility of surface contamination by glitches in handling, and preparing the body and loading into the casket (if Christian) or similar platform etc might pose health risks with COVID-19 infection if not properly handled or body is not correctly disinfected. Therefore, the body should not be exposed and the family should not touch it even from outside the casket or similar platform like the wrapped corpse 7. Glove advocacy: I have also seen that the family members touching the outer surface of the COVID-19 corpse casket with gloves. This is not a correct. If it happens the hands need to be properly disinfected. Many people do not know to safely use gloves. Please ADVISE them, 8. Finally, IMPOSE enforcement if the leaders or the public do not abide the guidelines. 9. If you need any help, I am voluntarily willing to walk though the protocol with your team. Please touch base with me. Good luck. Let us together chase this invisible enemy away, Dr. Dorothy Rego BSc, MSc, PhD, MPH

Sir, Please call a meeting of all vegetables Push Cart vendors and fish vendors and give them pass to sell in certain area where they prefer. They must sell in that particular area only. That too they must move their push cart from flat to houses in that areas. They should not sell on road by parking in one place.

Thank you very much for your concern and good initiative approach sir. Salaried person usually follow the covid restrictions with few exceptions. As far as middle and working class people are considered particularly daily wage workers, there is a need to flexible the restrictions to a manageable level. If these peoples are ensured to meet their day to day needs then its easy for you to manage otherwise it leads to unhealthy circumstances. At present no body knows the outcome of these restrictions but one thing is evident from the last covid restriction that if you become more and more rigid, then it will burst again in an exponential way when the restrictions are removed or relaxed. Hence there is a need to balance so that people should not loose the faith on the democracy on one hand and respect and belief on the police department. We as a citizen its our bound responsibility to cope up with the law and order. All the best sir 👍.

Sir, few suggestions Make timing 7 to 11. Because Banks ,LIC, Post offices open at 10 am. So more citizen can take the advantage. Don't allow any vegetables vendors in and around central market area. Encourage vegetables push cart vendors to go around in different wards, so buyers of vegetables will have at their flats or house. Regular interval means every half hour alert citizen announcement over Mike regarding social distence and ask them to go home if the work finished. Instruct Police to speak politely with citizens. Has much as possible keep Barricade in many places so vehicles drivers must fed up. This way vehicles on road can be reduced. Request Grocery shop owner to mark social distence mark in front of their shopes Sized vehicles don't release for 1 month with double fine.

Dear sir, We appreciate your initiative of taking publics suggestion into consideration. First and foremost, we request your personnel to patrol especially the interior areas where we can see many people playing games, riding vehicles without masks and so on. If you come across such people, it's best they're beaten because they're spreading the disease right now. Regarding the Lockdown timings, it's best if the timings are more liberal, maybe from 6-12 because with the current timings people rush to the shops in large numbers. Please ban non emergency vehicular movements because that too is quite problematic....If you cant be strict, we cant achieve anything. The theory of achieving a mask less herd immunity has been disproven in a very disastrous way....Thank you sir....god bless

The suggestions of constable, petty and big Shop keeper, rich and poor cusy, vegitable vendor, meat vendor and public may be gathered. The public should not be allowed to come to any shop The supply of all items be booked over phone. As many organisations ready to help and shop keeper staff should be arranged for supply under the control of police staf/guard or authorised person. The payment may be digital or cash. But the public and vehicle should be banned other than essential service providers. Service should be provided with out disturbance and all politicians should be kept out. The orders should move from one agency and specific

use home made cloth mask with 3 layers only those who are infected should use medical mask. single use .... Change after 6 hrs...maintain proper distance.....wash hands thoroughly ......Nourish healthy food... People should take treatment even for slight fever or cough and take rest..... if they neglect end up with complications.....Please don't encourage lock down.... people will suffer from its effect..... Create a group of volunteers who can assist the people in need specially in the hospital....so the nurses burden will be reduced in the hospital....

It is good to see The Police Commissioner Mr. Shashi Kuar taking keen interest in helping the people by providing guidelines to control the spread of the Covid Epidemic. A very important aspect is the wearing of the masks properly. Very often I have requested people to properly use the masks by fully covering their faces including the nose. Very often motor cyclists neither wear helmets nor masks. It is expedient that the violators of the rules are strictly warned to follow rules

First of all without finding root cause of this Covid virus, to get solution for it, is far from being reached. Chinese didnt allow investingation for months, left leaning WHO, other liberal nations, support Chinese story, so trusting in these WHO vaccines is a murkier business, these vaccines only add more numbers is the question? Many doctors have been gagged to speak against these vaccines by western communist media / Big tech inspite of that following video in the referenced link 5 Western Doctors including 4 women doctors openly warn Big Pharma vaccine itself are Bio weapons and why? If it is true, In that case finding a solution is a big question mark? Ref: https://healthimpactnews.com/2021/urgent-5-doctors-agree-that-covid-19-injections-are-bioweapons-and-discuss-what-to-do-about-it/

@ John, Mangalore. US knew about china manufacturing secret bio weapon inside Wuhan lab through bats. even our govt knew about it but didn't knew it was a bio weapon. china has been testing this bio weapon corona since years to be used in third world war.. some idiots leak the virus & next day china shuts off while nation meaning they knew it's impact. That lady doctor who was working in lab was murdered by Chinese govt bcoz she knew whole story. If only our govt had banned international flights when outbreak happened covid would not have been so severe... Govt acted late by the time most of them arrived from China.

Following are few unanswered questions... Country lockdown but international connection from Wuhan kept open so virus to deliberately spread to other countries, smart or evil chinese or preplanned in the name of leak ? Delay in calling it as a pandemic by communist leaning, Western liberal elite sponsored WHO ? Why second wave, using vaccines? in the model of the 1918 'socialist' Spanish flu ? Same time globalists making money billions of dollors in vax business, computer and online businesses while (trying to choke) other free countries loosing jobs, businesses and economy?

Good gesture at last, Sir after theft has taken place no use if we close the door, Lockdowns never are intended to control the spread but only to prepare for number of cases that might overwhelm the medical system. So get educated for self as well as convey to this to the govt., authorities. The airborne virus isn't going to stop even if you keep distance or use of masks will prevent it from infecting others as it is scientifically proven they are incapable to prevent the same. First thing you can do is stop after conveying to the govt., the test isn't meant to either detect corona or to prove infections. It will save lot of money & anxiety for the people which causes fear in them which is the reason more deaths happen. Secondly ban all media from publishing daily count of assumed infections & number of deaths thereby lowering the panic among the public. Lastly you can end the asymptomatic spreading story by asking for evidence from those who claim it & to prove it with which medical study it was substantiated in any country. Lastly the Chinese Model of Containment isn't meant for a country like India but only suitable in a communist or totalitarian country. Herd immunity only can be achieved when the virus will sweep through majority of young generation thereby preventing its new variants creating any more waves, We had failed to do that last year by shutting down & not letting this natural herd immunity from getting hold, if we repeat the same failed measures we are creating more deadly strains as more & more people get vaccinated thereby helping the new mutants wreaking havock which has prompted the German doctor from asking all govts., & WHO to stop vaccinations immediately to prevent the same. Last but not the least ask the govt., to compensate us for preventing us from earning our livelihood by preventing through the lockdown measures, then only people will abide by any rules, otherwise hunger cannot be contained with any force for longer.

People are fed up with sudden lockdowns with a short notice of information to the public from the administration. Therefore, in future all groceries, vegetables, fruits, fish and meat shops should be opened from 06:00am to 11:00am. This will ease peoples suddenly flocking to the markets. Apartment from this police should keep strict vigil on people's keeping physical distances and safe masks.
