Mangaluru, May 8: Hundreds of people made a beeline in front of Wenlock hospital's vaccination center to receive jabs here on Saturday May 8.

Interestingly, amid strict lockdown rules, several people have come to the hospital to receive the jabs, amid growing cases of Covid-19 in the state.

Vaccination programme officer Dr Rajesh speaking to daijiworld said, "We are administering the second dose of Covishield vaccines at present. We have received 3,400 vials of Covishield vaccines yesterday. So, we have started the vaccination programme. There are 380 doses in Wenlock.

We have sent 180 doses to Ullal and 200 doses each to the community health centers in Surathkal, Mulki and Moodbidri. The remaining doses have been distributed among various taluks in the district," he said.

Meanwhile, Dakshina Kannada reported 1,633 positive cases on Friday. The district has 10,961 active cases. With 7 deaths on Friday, the total death toll has risen to 780.

Mr. Vicky - Dhamaskatte, Manjeshwar, Goa or wherever you are Your comments border on the ridiculous, while each one has the liberty to have & express their views, one fails to understand what you are trying to convey. It is apparent that you like to see your name in print, but the “disagree “ hits you get shows that you are lost... and certainly don’t have a clear perspective of what is happening on the ground, blind faith, trust, sycophancy to a reasonable extent can be condoned, a keyboard warrior doesn’t help society. You’ve ended up being a joker of the party you seem to be cheering...

I see a lot of senior citizens in the queue? Why did they not get vaccinated when officials were begging every one to get vaccines in March? This is pure ignorance and superstition. Also a big debate was if Covaxin is a good since it was made in India. I think the people should blame themselves. Jaisi karni, waisi bharni!

Unfortunate that thos govt has utterly failed despite knowing the mistakes it made last year. Despite knowing there is going to be a sexond wave didnt learn from its mistakes. For this govt kumbh mela was important, election rallys was important and still although people are dying like houseflies threatening people who complain is important. It is unfortunate that some people are still backing the pm despite knowing he destroyed our country. They will still continue being blond even if they go down with corona themselves. Isnt this radicalization ?? But bo. They will call the muslims of radicalization. Open your mind not your eyes dear andh Bhakths. When yogi can shut people up by threatening then if they complain about oxygen, then why cant the govt enforce strict and compulsory adherence to rules and make it mandatory for all the citixens to take the vaccine. The bjp can do everything else but not this.

In Australia, Netherlands, Newzealand, Canada, Germany one of developed countries have shortage of vaccines. People are on waiting spree from January. Our's population is too huge still we able to do our best atleast for senior citizens. In some of Govt.PHC nurses/supervisors use to request to send people for vaccination. On that time no one cared about it and ignored the most. When second wave hit India all of them suddenly thought to have it. In initial stage rumours spreaded all over there is side-effect of the same. Now wait for some more days..when available please register yourself in app. Its clearly mentioned in app..in which center vaccines are avlble. Just go thru one by one and endorse your elderly people when stock is avlble. Its just hardly take 20-30 min..if applied properly.

It is not like a polio vaccination drive,.Polio vaccination campaign will start on certain date when all primary health centres are ready with vaccine. Here, COVID vaccine manufacturer is not in a position to meet the requirement. So, we have to wait. It has to be prioritised based on age group instead of opening up for all from 18 years and above. Instead of buckling to pressure to inoculated all by some state, Govt should have started the vaccination for 18years+ with co-morbidities from June and others from July 2021. So that all senior citizens and people aged above 45 could have completed two shots by May or mid June 2021. Stay safe and don't run around the vaccination centre where you many possibly come in contact with asymptomatic person.

Finally marketing strategy working with very few people getting the jabs last month to now a que is developing for a vaccine that isn't proven its efficacy but authorized with an emergency basis. The tall claims of less symptomatic or lifesaving illness even if infected again with new strain is unsubstantiated & not proven in any scientific study. The data shows for every 10,000 people getting infected only 5 deaths isn't calling for an emergency or any failed measures like lockdowns & vaccinations as the very basis of them are based on fake tests & a story created about asymptomatic spreading the infections which have no scientific evidence to prove these claims.

I know it’s difficult but it’s not impossible. All the MLA of particular district need to step in and provide door step service for vaccine to elder people. So the scare of infection will be less . We can’t blame Gvt for every thing it’s we people of india need to understand the seriousness of COVID 19

Vaccination programme completely successful. We able to cover 13% of population. Long way to go. Will successful in coming days. Short of vaccines. No more availablity of raw materials. Adar Poonawala of Serum Institute is in UK..to puruse to obtain more of rawmaterial to produce vaccines. Its what given by earlier govt. No proper infrastructure. No R&D centre. Our scientists working abroad. We still struggling and throwing mud one another..without knowing the reality.

Again you are built in to blame govt itself. Open the app and try choosing a slot it will tell unavailable. And will allow only 2nd dose people for fixing dates. What does that mean? That you need not come. Still people come
