Mumbai: Elderly person promised Remdesivir, gets duped

Mumbai, May 6: A senior citizen desperately seeking for Remdesivir who had resorted to online helpline was recently duped by a cyber fraudster.

Sriraman Bagdi, was looking for Remdesivir and dialled a Covid-19 helpline and were given a doctor’s number. After sharing the prescription and requirements with the doctor, they were directed to a third individual. This man, whose identity is not known asked them to transfer Rs 6,500 to his account.

Bagdi transferred money, but never got the vials. A complaint was filed.
