Heart Breaking News! Dr Bhaskar Mayya was our teacher in Jyothi High School, Ajekar. Not only was he a very good teacher, he was great littérateur, having enormous command over Kannada, Hindi, Samskrit & English Languages. A thinker, debater, he inculcated scientific spirit in students. We used be in awe of his intellectual prowess at the time. He had studied Marxism in great detail & used to debates by students on the various subjects including Communism Vs Capitalism. One in a million scholar, genius! I vividly remember, many of us had cried uncontrollably when he left our Highschool, to take up position as Lecturer in Bhandarkars College in Kundapur. An overbearing feeling of emptyness is overtaking me today. Condolences to his family!
