Puttur, May 5: In an incident that occurred in the city a youth tried to commit suicide as he was distraught by the fact that the girl he was in a relationship with ditched him.
The youth had come all the way from Gujarat in the midst of lockdown and tried to kill himself by the side of the road in the city. He was rescued by the Covid war room members of Puttur MLA, who convinced him and sent him back to his native place of Mysuru.
Nandish, a native of Mysuru, who was working in a hotel in Gujarat for many years, is the person who took the extreme step of killing himself. He had roamed many places as he was dejected that the girl he loved got separated from him. At last, he reached Puttur and he was lying by the side of the road at Polya near Kabaka. Nagaraj Mittur who noticed Nandish lying by the roadside brought him to Puttur BJP office. When the members of Covid war room tried to know the issue, Nandish did not respond properly. So he was given shelter at the VHP office.
Later the youth disclosed the story and said that he is of Mysuru origin and his family is living there. He was working in a hotel in Gujarat and fell in love with a girl there. But she got separated from him and he came back to Karnataka with the intention of ending his life. Members of MLA’s war room and leaders of VHP and BD counselled Nandish. He said that he wants to go back to Gujarat. Now it is decided to send him back to Gujarat through the war room of Puttur MLA.
The effort put in by the members of Covid war room of Puttur MLA is lauded by everyone.
