Bengaluru, May 3: Home minister Basavaraj Bommai on Monday launched the State Fire Force and Emergency Services for spraying chemicals in the Covid infected areas in view of the surge in the second wave of the pandemic.
The State Fire Force and Emergency Services had organized the programme near the Town Hall.
A similar programme for spraying chemicals had been conducted in the Covid infected areas during the first wave. It is being carried out in heavily populated areas as the chances of spreading the virus was more in such areas.
The State Fire Force and Emergency Services has arranged 12 big vehicles for spraying the chemicals throughout the State. In areas where access to the bigger vehicles is not possible, smaller vehicles will be used, the minister said.
Karnataka State Fire Force and Emergency Services director-general of police, Amar Kumar Pande and other senior officials were present.
