Mangaluru, May 3: A 30-year-old man suffering from mental illness is said to have jumped from the second floor of Wenlock Hospital.
The individual was being treated for coronavirus and was admitted to the Covid ward of Wenlock.
Fortunately, the fall only resulted in him sustaining minor injuries and few stitches to his head. As per sources, the patient is doing fine and out of danger.
The concerned is a native of Mundkur, a village in Karkala taluk of Udupi district.
As of Sunday, Dakshina Kannada has reported a total of 47,038 positive cases. Further, recent data on the trend of coronavirus infections also revealed that men were more vulnerable to infection, with deaths of men being twice more than that of women.
Meanwhile, the state has recorded 37,733 new cases of coronavirus infections on Sunday. While as many as 98,05,229 people have received vaccination so far. There are over 4,21,436 active cases in the state.
