Mangaluru: Mentally-ill corona patient jumps off second-floor of hospital

Mangaluru, May 3: A 30-year-old man suffering from mental illness is said to have jumped from the second floor of Wenlock Hospital.

The individual was being treated for coronavirus and was admitted to the Covid ward of Wenlock.

Fortunately, the fall only resulted in him sustaining minor injuries and few stitches to his head. As per sources, the patient is doing fine and out of danger. 

The concerned is a native of Mundkur, a village in Karkala taluk of Udupi district.

As of Sunday, Dakshina Kannada has reported a total of 47,038 positive cases. Further, recent data on the trend of coronavirus infections also revealed that men were more vulnerable to infection, with deaths of men being twice more than that of women. 

Meanwhile, the state has recorded 37,733 new cases of coronavirus infections on Sunday. While as many as 98,05,229 people have received vaccination so far. There are over 4,21,436 active cases in the state.

    A corona sick person will get many side effects of it.Mostly mentally sick many times.So one has to be careful .Should have either fix him to bed or give him tablets to be quite.was noone near him as he tried to jump?Or wanted to escape from hospital?Many people get speech problem after one is sick for long time.Hope he got his lesson learnt.and not try again to jump.

    Deshbhakt, we are made of iron and steel with electric wires as our nerves.....Thats why a man earns but a woman bears baby, works, cooks looks after the whole household chorus....if she is sick for one or two days....how many of our men can manage the work what she does ???

    "men have a shorter lifespan therefore our society has more widows than widowers -" age difference between husband and wife is high in India compared to advanced countries.... moreover most men in India spoil their health by drinking, smoking etc. so there are more widows than widowers...
