Bengaluru: LDF, UDF disastrous to Kerala, TMC won on fear politics - DCM Ashwath Narayan

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (EP)

Bengaluru, May 2: Reacting to BJP's performance in the Kerala state Assembly elections, Karnataka deputy chief minister (DCM) Dr Ashwath Narayan on Sunday May 2 downplayed the BJP's loss and said that the party had made gains and would come to power in 2026 elections.

"People do not have faith in LDF and UDF. They want to throw away both of them. But votes get shifted in between competition between the parties. Both the parties are disastrous to Kerala. BJP has increased its vote share. We will definitely come to power in Kerala in 2026," he said.

On the bypolls in Karnataka, he said, "We hope to win bye-elections in both the constituencies. There is a neck-and-neck fight in Belagavi by election. There is a small margin. But we will surely win. We cannot identify any one person responsible for the win. All of us are working including chief minister's son Vijayendra," he said.

He further said that controlling the spread of coronavirus amid election results was a challenge. "The conditions are not suitable even though we work hard. The government is working sincerely but there are inadequacies in performance. Covid is spreading on a large scale. There have been scarcities of vaccines, Remdesivir, beds etc. It has not happened only in our state but also in the country and the world. We have acted quickly in a short time. Covid management is not the reason for our loss.

"There were no BJP MLAs in the local body elections that the party lost. There is no wave against the government. Several elections were held during this term and we have won many of them. Therefore there is no calls for change in leadership," said Ashwath Narayan.

Commenting on Trinamool Congress party's victory in the crucial West Bengal elections, he said, "Rowdism, violence and misuse of power have taken place in Didi's (Mamata Banerjee) West Bengal. They have played politics of fear. TMC has not held just elections. It has retained power by means of fear. The real opinion of the people is not in their favour. BJP had an opportunity to win there," he said.

Honorable minister of the state, you should be more worried about the prevailing conditions in the capital city of Bengaluru and all over the state. Today 24 people paid with their lives in the district hospital of Chamarajanagar and you have no time to attend to the crisis. You think that people of Kerala are fools unlike Karnataka to elect again the government of the day led by CM Vijayan. Kerala is the only 100 percent literacy rate state in the whole of India from decades and they know exactly what they want. Anyway people of Karnataka will have to pay now the price with their lives for misplaced priorities of the governments of the day.

Haa,,Acoording to BJP, all the parties are disastrous except BJP. It has done a tremendous job all these years and also during pandemic times. You can't fool people anymore and decpt them, TN, WB are exemplary to it, BJP put all its battalions canvassing in Bengal rallies leaving no stones unturned. A lady single handedly destroyed the entire army of BJP and buried them totally. BJP should learn to behave well and chnge their attitudes or else they will be sweeped out frever. Hats off MAMTHA, the tigress of bengal. Who fought with head and foot and retained the triumph.

Stop fooling around. People of Kerala voted strongly for good governance hence LDF won. In Bengal, TMC routed the BJP. Accept defeat and start gearing up for 2024. BJP may be in for a drubbing then.

IUML back stabbed UDF...............P. K. Kunhalikutty wanted to be the chief minister if UDF wins, this not gone well with Christian voters specially from southern Kerala thinking that if he becomes chief minister IUML become strong. Hence, they turned towards LDF. (this is from a friend of mine who is a Christian from south Kerala)

What a stupid statement from the DCM of our state, let him put his own house in order. The states that have kept the dirty virus in today’s results will be prosperous, they have decided wisely, not based on caste and creed, they want development. How dare he questions the intelligence of the voters . .?. See the disaster happening here in Karnataka, a corrupt government taking instructions from Delhi hasn’t been able to contain the pandemic here. He is dreaming of 2024 - question is wether his government will collapse due to arrogance and mismanagement. ...

high time BJP is shown the door in Karnataka and loose cannons like this rendered to oblivion. Cannot manage the pandemic in his state, this DCM comments on others. For the record, LDF ruled Kerala has the best pandemic handling record not just in the country, but one of the best in the world. Let us see BJP equal this in any field other than obscurantism and fundamentalism. & the gent has no standing at all to comment on TMC.
