Missing Covid patients will face action: Karnataka DGP

Bengaluru, May 2 (IANS): Karnataka Director General and Inspector General of Police Praveen Sood has warned of tough action against those patients who had absconded after testing positive for Covid-19.

Sood's warning comes after Revenue Minister R. Ashoka had told media that around 3,000 covid patients had gone missing from the state's radar on Thursday.

Following the incident, Ashoka, who is also the Vice Chairman of the Karnataka State Disaster Management Authority, had directed the police to track these missing patients from Bengaluru.

Sood in his tweet said that the biggest disservice one can do is to switch off the phone and disappear after receiving the Covid positive report.

"Such people shall be traced and booked under Disaster Management Act for their misdemeanour and irresponsible act," he said, adding that one may not have symptoms but still might be the carrier.

"Be responsible, cooperate and stay home," he said.

Sood also asked people to abide by the Covid restrictions seriously.

"Let's take the lockdown seriously. It's in our own interest and possibly the last resort," Sood said in another tweet.

He said that more than 1,000 vehicles have been seized by police for loitering on flimsy grounds.

"I am sure you don't want to return home without your vehicle. Cooperate with police, stay home and break the chain," Karnataka DGP warned the violators.

Bengaluru police has so far seized over 6,000 vehicles since the lockdown was imposed on April 27.

Karnataka imposed a 14-day lockdown in the urban areas of the state from April 27 night to May 12 morning in order to contain Covid.

The state has been reporting about 35,000 cases a day while the active cases have reached close to 3.5 lakh.

Gurucharan Rao mangalore, are you kidding? One should take this very seriously.Last these are the one who last give the mistake to the govt.If one is tested early positive, better chances to quarantine early and get well earlier, than missing and hiding,if they are more sick and come last looking for beds and oxygen?First or worst of all they then other contaminate other people and might get worst. One must really be bit aware of their responsibility. No wonder this spreads so fast in India. If get sick ,problem of getting bed .Person who suffered once later have lot of problems to get back to normal life,That too must be considered.

This must have been anticipated by the police because people feared for their lives if they were to be forcibly quarantined in a government facility!

DGP must not remain quiet here. He must auction those vehicles and credit the proceeds in Government exchequer. Govt will do something to provide facilities for patients in this distress time with the credited money.

Mr Sood. I don't think it is sensible to go behind the citizens who tested positive as they may be safe elsewhere and getting done their quarantine stay. Do you have proper facilities to treat them. You may be good in tracing the thieves but in medical field you and your state government is completely failed where there are no basic amenities to treat the patients.

First of all are these RTPCR tests trustworthy? Most of corona deaths due to chocking of medical infrastructure and both mild and severe cases rushing or made to rush to hospitals after showing positive through these high sensitive communist RTPCR Tests. All Comminist chinese and globalists plan to decimate people by hyping fear of virus, creating medical facilities shortages also mainly to raise fear and push for their vaccines or their lucrative business using their 'gold standard' high sensitive RTPCR tests which may detect seasonal corona viruses 2021 (seasonal flu) also as Covid 19. Using this virus, fear of virus, misusing knowledge of it These communist chinese trying to ruin the whole world and creating chaos due to shutdown, shortages then finally taking advantage of situation controlling the world with the help of their huge military. With a small virus win the whole world or bring communism seems to be chinese communist policy!
