Mangaluru, Apr 30: Movement of special trains is getting adversely affected because of intensifying second coronavirus wave. As there is a significant drop in the number of passengers travelling by trains, special trains are being cancelled.
Two special trains starting from the central station here have been cancelled. The Margao Junction -Mangaluru Central train has been cancelled from April 29. This train had been cancelled last year and restarted from April 12 this year.

Most of the trains which had been cancelled from March 23 last year had been re-introduced by the railways department as special trains from November last. Now, over ten special trains moving to different destinations from the central railway station.
Likewise, Mangaluru central-Lokamanya Tilak Terminus special train No. 02620/2619 has been decided to be cancelled from April 29, Palakkad division of southern railway stated. Two other important special trains No. 02414-02413 Margao Junction-H Nizamuddin, Margao Junction-Rajdhani super-fast and train No. 02120/-2199 Karmali-Mumbai CST Tejas super-fast train has also been cancelled.
The southwestern railway has cancelled KSR-Bangaluru-Chennai-Kuchuveli-Banaswadi-KSR Bengaluru and KSR Bengaluru-Coimbatore, Mysuru MGR Chennai Central, and twice a week train between Banaswadi and Ernakulam from April 29.
