Mangaluru, Apr 30: Adani Group, which has the contract of maintaining the international airport at Bajpe on the outskirts of the city, has exorbitantly increased parking fee from May 1.
Passengers and vehicle drivers are expressing their rage against the company for increasing the fare at the difficult time of coronavirus pandemic.
Earlier, coach buses and trucks were charged Rs 70 for 30 minutes of parking. This is increased to Rs 300 now for half an hour and Rs 500 for two hours.
Mini buses and tempos were paying Rs 60 as parking fee. This is increased to Rs 200. If they park for two hours, then they have to pay Rs 350. In its publication, the company says that hired taxis will have to pay Rs 60 instead of the earlier Rs 55 for parking while commercial cars have to pay Rs 90.
Two wheeler parking price is increased from Rs 15 to Rs 20. Similarly, maximum increase in price is done for 24 hours parking. In addition, separate fines will be charged to violating any parking rules as per the announcement done by the company. The fine for violation will be Rs 500 for buses, tempos and cars while for two wheelers it is fixed at Rs 250.
