Nagpur, Apr 29: An 85-year-old man gave up his life to save the life of a 40-year-old man. This incident happened at the government hospital here.
A coronavirus-infected old man gave up his oxygen-equipped bed in favour of a younger patient. He said he cannot see people suffering for lack of beds or oxygen. "I am 85 now and have lived life to the fullest. If the husband of this lady dies, that family becomes orphaned, having lost its breadwinner. I do not need hospital bed," said Narayan Dabhalkar, who was also a RSS worker.

His daughter Aasawari Kothiwan said that her father, who was admitted into the government hospital with breathing problem, had seen the wife of a young infected person pleading with the hospital staff for a bed.
"My father was moved by this scene. He overlooked the doctors’ advice and gave up his oxygen bed. He gave a consent letter to the hospital and gave up his bed in favour of the young patient. He left us within three days thereafter," she explained.
