Biggest spike so far in twin districts: 664 new corona cases each, DK reports 4 deaths

Mangaluru/Udupi, Apr 28: As per the Dakshina Kannada health bulletin the district reported 664 fresh coronavirus cases on Wednesday raising the tally to 42,779.

Out of these, 4,694 cases are currently active.

A total of 7,29,742 samples have been tested. Out of which 6,87,013 are negative. As many as 256 people were discharged on Wednesday, A total of 755 deaths have occurred so far including three on Wednesday.

Over 49,668 mask violations have been reported and over 51,83,580 in fines have been collected

Udupi

The coronavirus tally in the district has risen to 30,314, including 664 fresh cases on Wednesday. Out of these, 2,230 cases are currently active.

Over 4,98,448 samples have been tested so far.

As many as 326 patients were discharged on Wednesday. A total of 194 deaths have occurred so far.

    Covid exposed the true face of some doctors. One 'family' doctor just stopped the treatment for an ongoing ailment, just as the patient tested positive for covid-19!!! He used to recommend hospitals and doctors for everything... for angiogram, angioplasty, TURP, lithotripsy, knee cap replacement. Got enough commissions for all these procedures plus his consultation charges continuously for a perios of 15 years, and now when the patient tested postive..," Nange innu treatment continue maadlikkagudilla. disvharge maadi manege karkondogi" was his answer!!!!

    Please break the chain. Please be careful. As of this morning, ICU beds are not available in Mangalore city. Beds with oxygen supply are too getting full. God save us.

    Just see the desperate migrant exodus from Bangalore; since it's a hotbed of the virus, imagine how many people from this crowd will pass on the infection in their native villages? Once it spreads to the rural areas, where even rudimentary medical facilities are not available, the issues will be very hard to control! Moreover, the fury of the election rallies & Kumbh Mela congregations infections should show up towards May end!

    In my opinion, it will be best for healthy as well as sick people, to do steam inhaling 3 times a day to ward-off virus. Also, add a few drops of vinegar in 3 cups of boiling water. This steam can destroy virus in the respirator system as well as lungs. Wish you all my friend a speedy recovery.

    Steam might help in liquefying secretions in the respiratory tract and expel it easily, but if the temperature is so high to kill the virus it can as well destroy the delicate mucosa of the respiratory tract, which is our first line of protection against the virus.
