Udupi, Apr 28: Lockdown rules are being enforced without exception in the city. People came out of their homes early in the day on Wednesday May 28 and returned after purchasing essential goods.

After 10 am, only those who had compelling reasons to move on the road, were allowed. A number of police check posts have been set up.

A police team led by circle inspector Pramod Kumar, went round the city at 10 am along with a team of police personnel. The team visited the fish market, vegetable market, meat stall at Adi Udupi, Santhekatte etc. He issued a warning to the people who were trading beyond the hours permitted and in violation of rules.

The police have been checking the documents of every vehicle moving on the road.

People are allowed to move only to visit banks, ATM, vaccination centres, and other essential services subject to producing records thereto.
