Mysuru: De Paul International Residential School introduces IGCSE curriculum

Media Release

Mysuru, Apr 27: De Paul International Residential School, Mysuru was conceptualized, visualized and materialized in 2003. The dream of its founder was to provide a world class educational environment to its learners. Today, it stands tall in the educational map of Karnataka, India with the motto ‘Lighted ones to lead the world’. It was a natural progression to introduce the IGCSE curriculum in the year 2011-2012 for students from India and abroad.

Pearson Edexcel International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) is designed to assess the internationally relevant syllabus in a local context giving the students a broader perspective of the subject matter they study. These exams are equivalent to UK GCSEs and accepted by universities worldwide. Aimed at learners aged 13 to 16 years, they provide the problem solving skills, critical thinking, and in depth knowledge needed to progress to A Levels, International A Levels, IB Diploma or onto university and into employment. Assessment in the form of examinations takes place at the end of the 2-year course, and can include written, oral, coursework, and practical assessment. Examinations are held in January and June.

Pearson Edexcel International GCSEs are awarded using the nine point grading scale (9–1), introduced by the UK government to raise standards and recognise top-performing students. The IGCSE curriculum is at par with CBSE and ICSE in India.

For students who have already taken Pearson Edexcel GCSEs (equivalent to Std X) will find many of the skills they have already learnt relevant and beneficial to Pearson Edexcel International AS (Std XI) & A (Std XII) Levels. AS and A Levels are internationally benchmarked qualification system providing excellent preparation for University education.

IGCSE and IAL at De Paul International Residential School is a student friendly programme. It offers a lighter and easier entry level for the aspirants into all key subjects without making any compromise on its subject contents. The campus is well-connected by its 24x7 internet and Wi-Fi activation which will help the students during their academic research and preparations. As the number of students is limited in each classroom, the student-teacher ratio is ideal for the IGCSE syllabus.

DPIRS is blessed with well qualified, trained and experienced teachers who get regular training directly from experts in the UK bi-annually. As a result, the DPIRS alumni are globally placed and socially bound while leading their life beautifully and meaningfully.
