Mangaluru: Covid protocols violated – Large gathering at temple, AC takes quick action

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (ANK)

Mangaluru, Apr 27: Despite the state reporting a spurt in Covid-19 cases, social distancing was thrown to the winds with people gathering in hordes without masks at the Brahmakalashotsava celebrations of Someshwar temple at Ullal on Monday April 26 night.

After receiving a complaint, assistant commissioner (AC) Madan Mohan raided the temple premises and sent back the people gathered.

The temple had conducted offertory and new chariot procession violating Covid protocols, three days ago. Hence, the tahsildar had issued a notice to the temple for violation of Covid protocols. According to the complaint of Tahsildar, Epidemic Act case had been filed against the temple.

Despite of complaint, the temple administration continued the programme at the temple. AC Madan Mohan conducted the raid and sent back the devotees.

while so many people are exposed , IPL is still being played, People are gathering everywhere , No proper arrangements , Poor people who are exposed are charged with hefty fees in hospitals. I dont understand whats going on in our country. Everytime politicians try to make us think that they have tackled corona virus. They only think about elections and winning. We are all like sheeps, we will forget what happened during next election and elect these dumb politicians again. and they know that people will forget what happened- If no one punishes them they will really not care. They will divide us using religion , caste etc. Hindus , Muslims , Christians and all religions should unite and face these kind of politics. we need better society and better healthcare system - Please this is the time we learn the lesson. If politicians know that we vote them on the basis of religion they will never work towards development of our country.

Wise people learn from other's mistakes. Normal people from their own mistakes and it is the fools who don't even learn from their mistakes. In Bangalore, despite repeated calls, virus spread like hell fire and today, there are no ICU beds left and people are dying. Some of them are moving to places like Mangalore, Mysore etc., as a fall back option. And here we have people just ignoring everything including the news and on their routine as if nothing happened. Even God cannot help the fools.

Despite having been served a notice still they've gone ahead with the rituals means they don't are not afraid of the authorities! Under such circumstances, the strictest of action should be initiated against the organizers of this congregation! These guys might be having political clout to ne so daring as to defy tahsildars notice! None of their leaders are commenting on this episode, which shows they do not want to displease a vote bank! Now this wave will soon intensify into a tsunami@

It's shocking that still religious dogmas and occult beliefs override science & common sense in a well literate place that foolish people throw caution to the winds & participate in mass congregations thinking that the deity will save them despite lockdown diktat being in force! IMHO, these people should have been first warned to disperse & if they ignored then tougher measures like mild lathi charge should have been done so they run away; by congregating in huge nos, they have added fuel to the fire of the fast spreading infection & indirectly put other law abiding people at risk of catching the infection! "Recently a major festival was conducted in a village in Belgavi; after which almost all those who attended got infected: The village deity's fair was conducted on April 5 and 6 at Abnali. All those who participated in the fair have tested Covid-19 positive. They work in different towns in Maharashtra and had come to their native place for the fair. They complained of vomiting and diarrhoea and underwent treatment at the primary health centre at Ashok Nagar, 5 km away from the village. They hid from the doctors the fact that they had come from Maharashtra." A case should be filed against the organizers of this under the disaster management act & a heavy fine imposed so that nobody else dares hold such congregations when the country is in a terrible crisis! I wonder what action would have been taken if the same was done by the minority community? Unless, we don't guage the seriousness of the situation and start thinking rationally we are doomed! These actions are the result of thali bajao, diya jalao, etc etc! Only divine providence can save such adamant fools!

In India rules are created to be broken. Now coming to this disease fear is the biggest killer. Second comes mismanagement of viral infections along with experimental administration of medicines which kills more people than viruses. Now few points for us to ponder- Farmers on the roads from November and corona virus is so scared it doesn't go near them despite 0 degree temperature or rainfall. Election rallies again without any mandates prove we have made a monster out of mouse. Lastly I again call the political leaders to stop unscientific PCR tests and end the menace sooner than later thereby saving lot of resources and valuable lives. Ban all media focus for TRP and end FEAR.

Many a time common sense gets sold over ignorance/stupidity/I don't-care attitude. And greed for political power blinds the politicians. That's what happened with elections campaign where both PM & Home minister openly flouted the rules and put people's lives in danger !!! And KUMB MELA, world is laughing at our politicians and at us. And we are paying price-Infections/deaths. Election commissioner must be jailed for allowing elections during these covid times, This could only happen in Somalia or some fourth world country, but happened in my beloved country. Close all places of worship- Temples/Churches/Darghas/Masjids/Gurudwaras etc Until covid gets under control, even if takes a year or more. Also our supreme court was supremely silent on elections/Kumbmela/weddings/ I don't know where our country is going!!! People now must not listen to politicians, but take matters in their own hands by not attending election rallies, religious ceremonies, weddings if they want to safeguard their lives.
