Mangaluru, Apr 26: A meeting over the scarcity of oxygen and its timely supply in government and private hospitals was held in the leadership of MLA Vedavyas Kamath and deputy commissioner at the deputy commissioner’s office on Monday, April 26.
Discussions with IMA doctors and officials over the swift supply of oxygen to prevent the scarcity was held in the meeting.
MLA Vedavyas Kamath said that MCF has decided to construct an oxygen plant at the ESI and Bantwal hospitals with CSR funds. “Blueprint for constructing another oxygen plant at another taluk by MRPL has been prepared. Small-scale oxygen plants have been planned at the remaining two taluks. It has been decided to complete the projects soon,” he said.
“A large-scale oxygen plant will come up at Wenlock hospital to produce oxygen in large amounts. The plant will be ready within the next 45-50 days. This is an important decision by the district administration to prevent scarcity of oxygen in the future,” he said.
Oxygen suppliers, a team of IMA doctors and officials were present.
