Udupi: ‘Removed mask only for photo-op at event’, says DC Jagadeesha over row

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (MS/HB)

Udupi, Apr 24: Citizens of the district have expressed their anger and frustration against deputy commissioner (DC) G Jagadeesha for participating in the Mehendi programme of the daughter of additional SP Kumarachandra where his photo of not wearing a mask went viral on social media.

Reacting to the incident, the DC clarified on the issue and said, "That was not a public programme but held at home. The house of additional SP is just beside mine. It is the happiest moment of the life of additional SP's daughter. Around 20 people were there in the programme. I did not even stay back for dinner and was there only for some time. Only for photograph sake, I removed my mask. I was there for only a little while."

Public of the district expressed their anger at DC Jagadeesha when he stopped the bus on April 18, in which students were travelling and made them get down from the bus and asked them to go by the next bus without making any alternative arrangement. When the media asked his reaction on this incident and the subsequent posts against him on social media, DC Jagadeesha said that certain teams are intentionally criticizing my development and the work I am doing. In addition, these gangs are trying to spread false propaganda about him also.

In the matter that occurred at the court premises of holding lavish lunch to hundreds of people also DC Jagadeesha did not take any strict action though there was proof of the same. He has served notice to the commissioner of the city municipality asking the reason for the same. This has also irked the citizens, who are saying that the DC is discriminating between the elite class and commoners of the district.

A Twitter campaign has also begun against DC Jagadeesha.

There is no propaganda against Jagadeesa as he claims. It was an outburst of support to those poor students who were deboarded from the bus and left alone in the middle of nowhere.

Tit for tat....Revenge ...revenge...revenge....what to do ...? Whatever guidelines which are put forward by the govt. he is trying to implementing the same.....Instead, people make big noise. If we are safe its for our good. Does he loose anything? People simply disagree and search the faults in everyone ....He is doing his duty according to his job. Why people are careless ? If he hadn't put mask he will bear the risk right ? We should see our safety first instead wait for the officials to implement by force or no.....NOW START DISAGREEING

Now not the question of mask. Now the question is when Mehndi is banned, how allowed them to conduct???? Next removed mask for a second is the big problems, you always say it should be wear properly covering the nose. And you have kept in your pocket. Where the rules gone ???? Government clearly says that any small functions , it should be inside the house only, and very close relatives can attened and no neighboring people. Being a DC you should be a roll model sir.

One and all should understand the vast difference in the facilities & security a top bureaucrat gets & a common citizen, struggling to make a living, with absolutely no financial security for the next day & then, in that context, comment what has really gone wrong here!!

Even the hapless college girls whom you forced to alight the bus were also travelling in the bus because they only had to go to write the exams. The word ONLY cannot justify your negligent act. Remember that THOSE LIVING IN GLASS HOUSE SHOULD NOT THROW STONES AT OTHERS.

Looks like you have not seen the videos of the event. There was a dance troupe, lots of people and nobody wearing masks. Ideally the DC should have stopped the event and booked a case on the spot.

Sir, if it was a closely held pvt family function, the pics should not have leaked in the public domain as you are holding a very responsible position and accountable to the common, law abiding citizens! Just read the following incident in Norway involving the 'PM' and think for yourself the vast difference between them and us, when will we get to that level of equality?: BUZZ STAFF| NEWS18.COM Updated: April 09, 2021, 14:55 IST Norwegian police said on Friday they have fined Prime Minister Erna Solberg for breaking COVID-19 social distancing rules when organising a family gathering to celebrate her birthday. The fine is for 20,000 Norwegian crowns ($2,352 or Rs 1.75 lakh approx.) police chief Ole Saeverud told a news conference. The two-term prime minister apologised last month for organising an event to celebrate her 60th birthday with 13 family members at a mountain resort in late February, despite a government ban on events attended by more than 10 people. While the police would not have issued a fine in most such cases, the prime minister has been at the forefront of the government’s work to impose restrictions, the police said.

Hello Sir.... even we have reason to talk. just don't give the wrong justification now. Let me explain the consequences I faced last night, I was going back home from my office work at 9.30PM. I wore a mask all day of my work and movements and I was traveling alone back home in my car. I was stopped by a cop in the kuthar check post and asked me (Eli tirgutha idiya mare) I said I work for a US-based company and I had a call which I had to attend in the office due to slow internet in my area and coming back home. He said dnt u knw its curfew and U should not go out (even after saying about my work) He asked me wer is ur mask. I said I'm traveling back home alone I just took and its in my co-driver seat. He starting behaving rudely to me saying don't give back an answer ur opening the glass and talking to me wer is ur mask and called the senior cop. He came rudely and asked me the documents of my car. I showed my ID and said him about my work then he calmed down and said I understand u guys' job and let me go. These north karnataka cops and just creating the fuss and making issues.

@Shetty Derlakatte ,I understand you and your work.It is not necessary to wear mask during driving and alone. There are some cops who dont know what is top and bottom. They try to threaten people to make money.some uncivilized ones.Other side they too are on pressure. Some people simply roam about neglecting the curfew .Today it is announced here no indians are allowed to enter Germany except their own citizens under strict rules. So India is now with its mutant dangerous to enter the country is staged. We ourselves neglect and making this disease more dangerous.

Viruses can escape even in that brief period you removed your mask without social distancing as per your own claims. Again you could have said I had covid so I have better immune system that doesn't let corona to colonize your URT & you doesn't transmit it to others. But there is a debate right now between scientists & doctors about vaccinated people shedding viruses for a fortnight & helping the spread of the virus. For this reason the German Doctor wrote letters to WHO & some govts. to stop vaccinating if pandemic is raging which causes more mutation of viruses which could be more deadly.
