Kundapur, Apr 23: The people when distributing marriage invitations will have to collect Aadhar cards of the guests. Because, as per the new rules, the government has stipulated maximum number of guests who can be present in outdoor and indoor marriages. Pass is compulsory for the guests.
Those who organize the marriages have to approach the designated officer. As many as 50 Aadhar cards of people who would be participating in the marriage has to be provided along with a list of guests. On this basis, 50 passes are issued. Guests are allowed inside marriages only against the production of passes. When the nodal officers visit the venue to check, cases are planned to be registered if there are people without passes or if the number of guests exceeds the maximum stipulated. The Aadhar cards have to be collected when giving invitations, and the hosts do not have the choice of accommodating someone else when certain pass holders fail to make an appearance.
Deputy commissioner of the district, G Jagadeesha, clarified that Aadhar cards are not needed. He said that only a list of 50 guests has to be provided, on the basis of which passes would be issued. He said that the officials concerned would be told not to demand Aadhar cards for the issuance of passes.
Marriages have been lined up now as auspicious functions were not held here for the last some weeks as the period was not suited as per the Hindu calendar. On Thursday, a huge rush was witnessed at the taluk office to collect passes for these functions.
