Surge in Covid cases: Starting April 25, UAE to ban entry of travellers flying from India

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (DV)

Mangaluru, Apr 22: With coronavirus cases skyrocketing in India, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Thursday, April 22 announced a ban on the entry of all travellers from India with effect from Sunday, April 25.

The travel ban will come into effect from 11.59 pm on Saturday, April 24, and will be reviewed after 10 days. A further decision will be taken after taking stock of the situation.

Earlier in the week, Air India Express on Monday had announced that starting from April 22, all passengers travelling from India to Dubai must hold a valid negative Covid-19 test certificate that's issued within 48 hours from the time of collecting the sample.

Several countries like UK, USA, Singapore, New Zealand, Pakistan, Hong Kong, Canada, and Oman have already restricted travellers from India amid the Covid surge.

The ban placed from various countries is likely to impact India's air bubble arrangements with these countries.

Doesn't the 'buck' stop with the man at the top ? Modi is always the first to claim praises for achievements but is never around to take share of the blame. BJP leadership spoilt India's economy and society with demonetisation, failed GST, botched Aadhar setup, laughable budgets and now with the Covid mismanagement. What was the need to hold political rallies in such a grand scale. Are you saying that Modi and other politicians did not have any common-sense to understand that the Covid threat had not gone away ? Modi should take moral responsibility and resign.

First, we as a citizen should understand what is our responsibility, are we following the guidelines? and by the way, this is not the problem created by Modi, antis have always tended to blame for each and everything is because of Modi.

When citizens deliberately and recklessly violate every Covid19 protocol and when States refuse to accept these standard norms, for their own political agenda... then forsure, the disastrous consequences, will inevitably be borne by the citizens across our nation !!! PM Modiji cannot be the whipping boy, for the misdeeds of reckless netas and their cronies !!!!!!!
