Udupi: DC Jagadeesh conducts surprise raid - Violators flouting Covid norms penalised

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (JD/SHP)

Udupi, Apr 19: The deputy commissioner of the district, G Jagadeesh on Monday conducted a surprise inspection of shops and buses to check violation of coronavirus guidelines.

During the inspection, the DC noticed that one bus moving towards Kundapur was carrying more passengers than permitted. Further, the bus staff were operating without masks.

The DC also asked the standing passengers to deboard. The bus staff and the passengers who violated the coronavirus norms were penalised.

"If similar violations continue, the bus owners will have to face the heat," the DC warned.

He also carried out inspections at banks, where the staff working without masks were fined. Rs 5,000 is the fine imposed on banks that violate coronavirus guidelines.

Speaking to the reporters, the DC said: "Even though there are strict guidelines for the bus operators to follow, we have observed that many are violating the orders. Over five buses have been booked for the violation. Such lack of adherence to coronavirus guidelines will contribute to the spread of infections."

Zilla panchayat CEO Dr Naveen Bhat and other municipal officials were present in the drive.

Publicity stunt and harasing student those who wants to go for exams is not acceptable, In peak hours they should increase number of busses and DC should appoint volunteer or officer in bustop to monitor people requirements of buses and provide more government buses to facilitate students and daily workers to reach their destination. They should see cause of over crowded buses rather than taking action on the field. Think about the solution rather than harasing conductor and drivers. If politician gather lakhs of people in the name of Rallies no one is taking action on the other hand harasing comman man become easy and fashion to get publicity.

Dear DC sr Thankyou for being such a wonderful person. You hard work in these year to safeguard our people mattered a lot to us. My question is Covid cases are growing in leaps and bounds , why aren't our college take a break for a week or so? It has been a hot spot of covid. Do you think being educated one our students will fulfill their duty of maintaing distance? It's a illusion sr!!! The reality is don't!!! Take around outside the campus of the college when it's time to go home. Students depend on public transport and do you think they wait for an 'unoccupied seat '? Hmmm. Never. Give them a substitute sr. It's peak hour of office , College and other work time. We aren't not able to maintain distance. We need to reach on time... To office.. To college.. To attend exam.... To work. We are common people. Please give us a substitute or an option... Or something that we all can join our hands with the initiative that you take. Apologize if its rude

Pls do not disturb Modi, he has to win Bengal Elections. corona can wait till may 2nd. Indian government is on hold till may 2nd till West Bengal results. it is a responsibility of the state and local governments to take care of the people. Central government has nothing to do with common man. Indian public does not know the reality as all are graduated in the whatsapp university. Robi Thakur has come alive and is busy till May 2. By the way all the sate governments and local administrations and institutions are over whelmed and trying all they can to educate and warn people and take care while LARG EELECTION RALLIES ARE HELD AND WILL BE HELD TILL MAY 2. Any one who has any sense of value for human life and concern for the people under their charge would have done precious little to save than indulge in such inhuman acts when the country is facing serious health issue with catastrophic proportions with no control. Hope people see reason and rise above politics and religion at least now to save humanity. All white bearded men are not Robi Thakur and all black / red beards are not to be branded. Hope central government takes the health issue seriously and leave politics for the living and left overs.

What is the problem with u, u just want an excuse to target the pm. Modi had never compared himself to tagore or anyone else. He is the elected pm of our country. He is not ur house maid. If anything unfortunate happens anywhere, people like u just get an excuse to blame modi. It is very easy to target others, first introspect yourself.

Dear deputy commissioner sir, please make arrangments people hsve.mask.with 1 rupee each. Then see everyone follow your corvid guideline to wear mask. Also reduce the price for sanitiser. People making money with essestional safety items for corona. So poor cannot spend rs. 20 to 30 everyday. People with symtom cannot bare cost of test. DC must understand that private busses are having more passengers because of the KSRTC strike. Instead of solving Governments failure fining the private bus owners is not acceptable. He must use his brain. Private bus owners need money. Hell with your un scientific Covid norms without making any back up for the travelers.

Private of public, why can't passengers and operators( driver/ conductors) wear masks.? DC Jagdeesh ought to have ordered the driver to park the bus and ordered the non confirming passengers to disembark and walk the distance to Kundapur or wherever.
