Udupi: 'Adhere to Covid guidelines strictly during public gathering’ – DC

Udupi, Apr 17: As per the direction of the state government, deputy commissioner (DC) G Jagadeesha issued guidelines to be adhered to contain the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The DC advised, “Compulsorily, each individual should maintain a social distance of 3.25 square meters during the public gathering and programmes. In cases of marriages, only 200 persons are allowed in the open space and only 100 people in closed space.

“During birthday celebrations and other programmes, as many as 25 people will be allowed in closed halls, convention centers and 50 people in open space.

“On the occasion of death and cremation, only 50 individuals are allowed in open space. Political meetings can be held in an open space without exceeding the limit of 200 people.

“During the above-said occasions, all should compulsorily adhere to the Covid-19 guidelines issued by the administration. In all the halls, marriage halls, cinema theatres, and during occasions, public gathering should take measures of sanitizing and wear masks. If failed to adhere to the guidelines as said above, action will be taken as per the Disaster Management Act and sections of the Indian Penal Code,” informed the DC.

    Very good advice .Problem is if ministers and others too keep it .How many times we see without masks and like in market people gather and celebrate .No wonder daily more people are getting infecting.Second no lockdown is everywhere practiced.
