Udupi, Apr 16: “I feel glad to inaugurate the 25th anniversary of Kodavoor Brahman Mahasabha that conducted several programmes for community service during the last 24 years,” said Palimar Math junior seer Vidyarajeshwara Theertha Sripada. While guests on the dais lighted 24 lamps, the seer lighted the 25th silver lamp together with the blowing of a conch.
Famous linguist and Kannada keyboard creator K P Rao was honoured with ‘Viprajnani’ title. Haridas Upadhyaya, Jayarama Rao and Kodavoor Brahman Mahasabha founder secretary Govind Aithal who gave guidance to establish Kodavoor Brahman Mahasabha were felicitated.
Horanadu Annapoorneshwari temple priest Dr Bheemeshwar Joshi, Karnataka Bank DGM B Gopalakrishna Samaga, Udupi taluk Brahman Mahasabha president Manjunath Upadhyaya and Vedamurthi Radhakrishna Upadhyaya Kambalakatta were present as guests of honour. An appeal about the silver jubilee was released on the occasion.
Kodavoor Brahman Mahasabha president Narayana Ballal welcomed the gathering. Silver jubilee president Manjunath Bhat gave the keynote address. Professor M L gave a speech of congratulations. Poornima Janardhan compered the programme. Kiran Rao sang a prayer song. Rajashree Prasanna read a letter of felicitation. Convener Sudhir Rao announced the future programmes. Chief secretary Chandrashekar Rao rendered a vote of thanks. Honorary president Gururaja Rao and secretary Srinivas Bayari were on the dais.
