Bengaluru, Apr 15: Home and Law Minister Basavaraj Bommai has warned tough legal action against anybody found creating artificial scarcity by hoarding and blackmarketing Remdesivir medicine, which necessary in the treatment of Covid patients.
Speaking to reporters at Humnabad in Bidar district, he said the State Government has received several complaints regarding anti-social elements trying to create artificial shortage/scarcity of Remdesivir medicine and selling it for higher price.
"I strictly warn them who create artificial scarcity and sell the medicine for higher price. Cases will be booked under Covid Regulatory Act,’’ he said during the election campaign in Bidar district.
He said, Karnataka faced many problems last year. But this time, we have made adequate facilities for treatment of Covid patients in all hospitals besides taking steps for testing.
Bommai said a high level police officers meeting is called in Bangalore to discuss how to safeguard police staff from Covid-19 and to implement rules to Control the situation.
