Udupi, Apr 12: “Some of the unscientific projects of the government including implementation of Kasturirangan report and Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) have created anxiety among people. Therefore, a united campaign against them is necessary. Rally for this cause will be continued in the Malnad region in the future,” said former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake.
He was speaking in the district Congress executive committee meeting at district Congress Bhavan. District president Ashok Kumar Kodavoor had presided over the meeting.
“The opinion of every party activist is valuable. Let us unite the party and be prepared for district panchayat and taluk panchayat elections. The elections will not be postponed as the current government indulges in politics rather than considering the impact of corona pandemic,” he said.
“The state government has changed the limits of district panchayat and taluk panchayats in an unscientific manner in the matter that is suitable for them. BJP already knows the date and reservations."
KPCC former chief secretary M A Gafoor was present. DCC chief secretary Alevoor Harish Kini welcomed the gathering. District Congress secretary Habib Ali rendered the vote of thanks. Local Congress party leaders were present.
