Bidar: 'Lockdown inevitable if public does not cooperate' - CM Yediyurappa

Daijiworld Media Network - Bidar (MS)

Bidar, Apr 12: CM Yediyurappa said that people would have to cooperate for the government to not impose a lockdown.

Yediyurappa was speaking to the reporters in the city on Monday. The CM further said, "Coronavirus infections are increasing in many districts day by day. People should come out of the house only if required. Crowded places should be avoided, social distancing needs to be maintained, a face mask should be worn and hand sanitization should be done."

"The state government is repeatedly creating awareness among the public about the seriousness of the second wave of coronavirus. Night curfew is imposed in districts where the cases are more. People have to respond. Otherwise, the government has to take strict action and lockdown becomes inevitable. Do not give opportunity for such a situation to arrive. Discussion is held with PM Modi with respect to controlling coronavirus," he added.

Sandalwood actor Shivaraj Kumar said that people should be aware in order to live. They should follow the rules of the government. Stubbornness is not required. If lockdown is imposed again, it will be difficult. Shivaraj Kumar was speaking after offering pooja to the tomb of Dr Rajkumar on the occasion of his death anniversary.

People in the state are discussing whether lockdown will be imposed again. Last year due to the imposition of lockdown, the public had to face financial distress. The situation is returning to normalcy from only a few months. If lockdown is imposed again, the life of commoner will be in dire straits.

The road congestion in Falnir junction and around other parts of Mangaluru due to poor execution of smart city project has been one of the prime causes for congestion of traffic. When there is congestion there is no social distancing. Best method is lockdown, complete the road work swiftly before the monsoon and start afresh.

One thing doctors won't inform you is that you will have to continue taking covid vaccination shots for the rest of your life. Big pharma, hospitals and insurance companies will be making money from your fears.

We don't want sermon from politicians. First let them follow guidelines/SOP and tell others. During election rally.. no corona. Seems it travels in night time between 8.00pm to 5.00am and sleeps in daytime. What a joke from our uneducated elected representatives. The guy who implements the rules and regulation should follow first and rest will follow; if not impose heavy fine.

Sir I had visited a govt office 3 days back I really understood what social distancing means forget 6 feet 2 feet also was not there. Sanitizer bottle is kept but there's no sanitizer. Looks like it was only for first 100 people. There is nobody to check temperature people are entering and going without masks if mask there it is to protect their chin. No wonder cases are sky high these days. The biggest joke is that on the wall it's stuck big banner telling maintain social distance bla bla. Along with govt public is also equally responsible.

For any infectious disease the virus needs to spread in a short time, it is now a year & no lockdowns or any other measures did help last year, & it won't in future as well. According to our doctors who are enlightening their clients about no risk viral infections as they are just like any flu virus have said it in March last year itself that lock downs are imposed only to give time to prepare medical facilities if the numbers multiply & they won't work if anybody wants to end infections with 14 hour lockdown, or months of keeping people inside, it will only postpone the future infections as the airborne virus will infect the people as soon as they come out as they are more vulnerable as their activities & sun exposure became restricted too. In those countries that didn't impose any of the restrictions they have now no fear as all the people have got the virus & have got the herd immunity while those who were kept inside were deprived of the same. Lastly no state or central govt. can survive for long on its reserves or through borrowing loans by stopping economic activities for long. According to one of my friend in western country Only Politicians & Journalists & Pharma people got full pay, all others were lead to brink with unscientific lockdowns, & other related mandates which had failed last year but still resorted to at the expense of tax payers. Its either Better Sense or Bitter Senselessness let us wait & see.

Yediyurappa is living in a fool's paradise. the infection is so widespread by now that no lockdown will work. His Govt was irresponsible enough to allow all gyms/malls/temples/theatres etc. to open leading to the exponential growth of the second wave. It was also in a great hurry to close down dedicated CVID care centres. If he ahs any ethics, he should quit and go home, taking responsibility for careless and callous actions. all that is left for him to do is to beat pots and pans once again.
