Moodbidri, Apr 12: The muhurat of Pradeep Barboza’s debut directorial Tulu movie 'Soda Sharbhat' was held at Veeranjaneya Swami Math at Karinje on April 10.
Sri Mukthananda Swamiji, Shri Kshetra, Karinje, led the prayer and blessed the camera, script and team. Walter Nandalike, founder, Daijiworld media, sounded the clapboard at the muhurat. Ashwin Pereira switched on the camera for the first shot.
The movie will be produced under the banner of PBP Films. Along with direction, Pradeep has written the story and script for the movie.
Speaking on the occasion, Karinje Sri Mukthananda Swamiji said, "It is a good occasion to begin the Tulu movie 'Soda Sharbhat' here. I am very happy to bless this movie because Pradeep and his team chose Veeranjaneya’s place for the muhurat. Through this start itself, the makers have tried to spread a message of harmony to the society. Definitely, the movie will make big noise in the Tulu entertainment industry. I hope the movie will give a good message to the society and the star cast will exhibit their hundred percent talent through their acting. I wish all success to PBP Films, the production house, Pradeep, the star cast, technical team and all who are associated with this movie.”
Wishing the makers of the movie the best, Walter Nandalike said, “I know Pradeep from many years and he is known for his comedy plots and lively acting. His first directorial Konkani film set a new benchmark in the Konkani entertainment industry and now he has come up with a Tulu movie. Coastalwood’s known actors are part of this project and there is no doubt it will be a great hit. Meanwhile, I appreciate his decision to start the movie with Karinje Kshetra. The blessings of Lord Veeranjaneya and Sri Mukthananda Swamiji will make this movie very popular among the cine lovers. We are lucky to have Swamiji like Sri Mukthananda who always encourages talents and supports to promote Tulu language and culture. The muhurat at Karinje Kshetra brought a special aura for the movie ‘Soda Sharbhat’.”
Thanking the Swamiji and gathering, Pradeep said, “I wrote my first drama in Tulu and then I got more engaged in Konkani drama. After my Konkani movie ‘Ek Aslyar Ek Naa’, my aim was to make a movie in Tulu language which is always very close to my heart. I planned this movie last year, but the Covid-19 restrictions forced me to postpone the project to this year. ‘Soda Sharbhat’ is a complete family entertainer packed with fun and valuable messages. Tulunada Manikya fame Aravind Bolar, known comedy actor Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Konkani’s well-known actor Mellu Valencia and many others are part of this movie. It is a great moment for me, to be part of the muhurat of my first ever Tulu movie at Karinje Kshetra by blissful hands of Sri Mukthananda Swamiji. I am really blessed to hear Swamiji and get a good start for my movie.”
Joylus D'Souza, appointed chairman of Christian Development Board, Melwyn Elpel, director, Andrew D’Souza, retired teacher and social worker, Mellu Valencia, actor, and others from the Tulu movie and drama industry were present. Avil D’Souza welcomed the dignitaries and compered the programme.
