Mangaluru: Body of missing fisherman found from Manjeshwar beach

Mangaluru, Apr 11: The mortal remains of a fisherman, who had gone missing during country boat fishing from Tannirbhavi three days ago, was found from the seashore at Manjeshwar on Sunday April 11.

The victim of this incident is Dawood Siddique (39) from Tannirbhavi. He had left Tannirbhavi for country boat fishing along with five other fishermen. At around 11.30 am on Thursday, he reportedly went missing about 14 nautical miles away from Panambur seashore in the Arabian Sea. A complaint was also filed at Panambur police station about the missing fishermen.

The body of the fisherman was found floating about 14 nautical miles away from the seashore between Talapady and Manjeshwar on Sunday morning. Local fishermen brought the body to the seashore. From there, the body was sent by ambulance to the city, it is learnt.

Dawood was engaged in fishing for the last 15 years. Besides, he was a member of the Tannirbhavi team of expert rescue divers.
