Udupi, Apr 10: On the occasion of the Easter celebration, the Catholic Sabha of the deanery handed over a newly built house to Gilbert Pinto and the family of Katapady. Catholic Sabha Udupi deanery members had celebrated Christmas celebrations at Gilbert Pinto's house. The members had noticed that the house was in dilapidated condition and decided to build a new house for the family by Easter.
The keys of the house were handed over to Gilbert Pinto and family by Fr Ronson D'Souza, the parish priest of Katapady church and Fr Charles Menezes, the spiritual director of Catholic Sabha Udupi deanery.
All the seven units of Catholic Sabha Udupi deanery and many donors had contributed toward the project.
Ronald D'Almeida, the president of Catholic Sabha Udupi deanery, John Sequiera, contractor, Walter Cyril Pinto, former president of the central committee, Brian Correa, Katapady Konkans Dubai, Anil D'Souza, vice-president of the parish pastoral council Katapady church were honoured on the occasion.
Robert Menezes, president of the Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh, Laveena Periera, secretary of Udupi deanery, Anil D'Souza, treasurer of Alphonse D'Costa, advisor Mary D'Souza and others were present on the occasion.
