Bengaluru, Apr 9: P Ravikumar, chief secretary and president of state executive, has sent out an order with respect to the guidelines to be followed during the night curfew which has been imposed in eight district headquarters due to rising coronavirus cases.

The order says that the union home ministry of government of India has taken out an order on March 23 in which it has given guidelines to control the spread of coronavirus infection. This will be in implementation till April 30. Accordingly, the state government has issued guidelines on March 29 with respect to Covid 19 virus infection test, detection and treatment. This will be in action till April 30. In separate amended orders the health and family welfare department of the state government has taken out a working method on April 2 and 4.

At present the spread of Covid-19 infection is rampant in the state and controlling measures are extremely necessary. That is why, using the authority under section 24 Disaster Management Act 2005, 'Corona Curfew is imposed in Bengaluru urban, Mysuru, Mangaluru, Udupi-Manipal, Bidar, Kalaburagi and Tumakuru city from April 10 to April 20, inclusive of both days from 10 pm to 5 am.

During Corona curfew, except the below mentioned essential services, all other services and transport is strictly prohibited:

• Transporting people suffering from various health related ailments and their caretakers is permitted for medical treatment.
• All companies that are working during night shift are permitted to carry out their scheduled work. However, the concerned labourers or employees should be present on duty before the beginning of curfew time.
• Medical services and emergency activities are only allowed. All other commercial activities are prohibited.
• Vehicles which provide essential services, Goods vehicles, home delivery, E-commerce and empty vehicles are permitted to commute.
• Permission is given for long distance night travel by bus, train or flight. Passengers are allowed to travel from home to respective stations or vice versa on the basis of official ticket in auto rickshaw or Maxi Cabs.

The above orders should be strictly implemented by commissioner of BBMP, city police commissioner Bengaluru City, DCs and SPs of Mysuru, Kalaburagi, Mangaluru and other concerned districts. Anyone who is found to violate the order will be subjected to action in accordance with section 51 to 60 of Disaster Management Act 2005, IPC and other legal by laws applicable.
