Madikeri, Apr 6: The lifeless body of a person who poured petrol on his house and set it afire on the night of Good Friday, thus causing seven deaths, has been found. The person had torched the house at Mugutageri, Ponnampet taluk in Kodagu district.
The deceased is Boja. His mortal remains were found in the coffee plantation at Mugutageri on Tuesday April 6 morning.
A video clip in which Boja is heard talking to his other daughter over phone after setting his house on fire, is in wide circulation in the social websites. It is suspected that Boja would have ended his life immediately after talking to his daughter.
In the said incident, seven persons including four small children had died. Bhagya (28), wife of Thola, who lost her two children, was being treated at Mysuru after suffering burn injuries in the said incident. She was fighting for survival but breathed her last on Tuesday morning. Thola also was injured.
Kodagu district police had formed special teams to search for Boja who caused the death of seven people including children. With the recovery of the body of the killer, the investigation has come to an abrupt end.
