It is learnt that Manoj was riding from Thumbe towards BC Road, when two unidentified persons, who were wearing helmets, began following Manoj in their bike.

On noticing them, Manoj took a turn into Ajjibettu cross and stopped in front of a shop.

The bike-borne miscreants then attacked Manoj and sped off without stopping.

He has been admitted to a private hospital in Mangaluru.

Manoj is employed in a civil engineering work abroad. He came to his hometown just two weeks ago. Locals said that his wedding is supposed to be held this month-end.

Bantwal police DySP Valentine D'Souza, town police station inspector Cheluvaraj and other police personnel arrived at the spot. A hunt is on to nab the culprits.

Generally, when a common man travels from Himalayas to Cape Comorin (Kanyakumari), no one is going to harm him, unless he carries gold or cash. Here, Manoj Sapalya also may be having a deep enmity with the assailants, otherwise they would not waste their time and energy to stab him. Sometimes, it so happens, the victim, unless he recognised assailants, he would not know who they are, since, some have so many enemies. It so happens, sometimes, some are having involvement with so many women, that if they get a letter to "keep away from my wife, otherwise, I will kill you", they are worried, if the writer of letter, did not write his name in the letter.

This looks like Manoj was knowing them or they had some problem with Manoj .Our mangalore /Bantwal is already become a big central of miscrants .No day passes without gang had attacked someone or with knife etc.I find in future bikes should be having a secret button built in case of any danger like bike followers to warn ,so that when one presses loud noice arise before miscrants attack.so that such people have to run away than attack someone.was it the gang wanted from him some money to erpress.?Why did he not tell where were these guys?and what is the secret behind this.Hope he will get well soon regain health.
