Bengaluru, Apr 4: In a fresh development in the sensational sleaze CD case purportedly involving former BJP minister Ramesh Jarkiholi, the special investigation team (SIT) has issued notice to former minister D Sudhakar asking him to appear before the SIT for inquiry.
It is said that the SIT, which is probing the case, procured information that D Sudhakar had transferred cash to the bank account of the victim in the case.
SIT officials asked Sudhakar to appear for inquiry and produce his bank account details. The former minister reportedly had connection with the woman in the CD for the last six months. The victim had contacted the Sudhakar over 30 times, it is said.
SIT officials have gathered information that cash had been transferred to the victim's bank account in RT Nagar branch. The SIT therefore asked Sudhakar to appear for inquiry before Wednesday April 7.
However, Sudhakar has rubbished reports of his links with the woman. "I do not have any connection with the victim, nor had I transferred money to her. It is all false," he said.
He denied allegations that he spoke with the woman in the CD over the phone. "My name may be in the woman's phone call list, but I have never transferred money to her account. I will answer the notice once I receive it," he said.
D Sudhakar from Chitradurga had won elections as an independent MLA. He had contested from Challakere constituency in 2004, and from Hiriyur in 2008 and 2013. He was minister for social welfare department in 2008 after he supported the B S Yediyurappa-led government.
