Mangaluru, Apr 2: Four persons have been arrested on Friday, April 2 for attacking a youth at Pumpwell. The incident had taken place on Thursday, Apr 1 under Kankanady city police station limits.
The accused had waylaid a private bus at the Kankanady bus stop and attacked a youth for travelling with a girl belonging to a different faith. The accused had stabbed the youth after which he was admitted at a private hospital in the city.
The arrested has been identified as Balachandra (28) resident of Attavar who has a case registered against him in Mangaluru East police station and in Kankandady police station. The other accused are Dhanush Bhandary (25) resident of Kanduka and has 4 cases in different police station against him including a murder case and a case at Mangaluru South police station, Jayaprakash (27) resident of Shakthinagar and has 4 cases at different police stations, while Anil Kumar (38) resident of Urwa and has an assault case registered against him in Mangaluru South police station.
The accused will be soon produced before the court.
The police has registered case under Cr no. 45/21 under Sections 143, 147, 148, 341, 324, 307, 153A, 354, 504, 507, 149 of IPC.
