Mangaluru, Apr 2: Sunil KR state convenor of Bajrang Dal alleged that a group in coastal Karnataka is involved in love jihad and conspiring for the religious conversion of Hindu girls in the name of love.
Addressing a press meet here at the VHP office, Sunil said, "The cases of love jihad are increasing in the state. Hindu girls are being subjected to the forceful conversion in the name of love, hence, the government in the state should bring a law to stop the love-jihad."
Stating that Bajrang Dal is involved in stoping 'love jihad' and it will continue even in the future. While stoping the case of 'love jihad, sometimes, aggressive mobs assault them and capture their photos or videos on mobile phones. But, the police are booking false cases including an attempt to murder cases in some instances against the Bajrang Dal workers and the leaders.
Also, he demanded the state government should withdraw 'false' cases booked against Bajrang Dal workers.
Bajrang Dal is ready to stop the love-jihad cases. Hindu girls working in various business establishments are being targeted. After threatening them, they are forcefully converted to Islam. If the police officer does not initiate any action to stop this in the coming days Bajrang Dal workers will take measures to stop it.
He also said that Hindu girls should be sensitised against the love jihad by holding awareness programmes.
On a question over a youth being stabbed by the activists of Hindu outfits at Kankanady bus stop for accompanying a girl belonging to a different faith, Sunil said that the workers may have stopped, but, when the public gathers in the spot, sometimes such incidents occur. But, we do not take the law into our hands.
Murlidhar Hasanthadka and others were present.
