Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (DV)

Mangaluru, Apr 2: Hours after members of Hindu outfits attacked a youth who was along with a lady while travelling by a private bus to Bengaluru from the city on the night of Thursday April 1, under Kankanady city police station limits, the Mangaluru city police have detained eight people in connection to the case.

Addressing a press meet at his office here on Friday April 2, police commissioner N Shashi Kumar said, "A group waylaid a private bus at Kankanady bus stop and attacked a youth for travelling with a girl belonging to a different faith. The accused also stabbed the youth with a sharp weapon. As the youth sustained stab injury, he was admitted to a private hospital.

“In connection to the case, a detailed inquiring is in progress. We have detained eight suspects for inquiry. We have also registered a case under 307 and other sections of the IPC. In the past two months, three to four such incidents have been reported.

"The girl was on her way to Bengaluru to look for a job in digital marketing. As the girl was not familiar with Bengaluru, she had asked the boy to accompany her in the job hunt. Both have completed their degree in the city. Both were known to each other," he said.

He also said that tight security has been deployed to keep a vigil in public places like bus stand, beaches and parks during evening and night to avoid any kind of untoward incidents.

ACP Ranjith was present.

If the Gang who are involved were arrested when the 1st incident took place it wouldn’t have led to 3 or more incidents like this one.. We don’t want mangalore to be next UP. Request the authorities to take action. If police does what’s needful I don’t think such groups will dare to do anything more. I think it’s high time people stop poking nose in others life. May be this need to be thought to them..

If police do unbiased duty and try to stop such non sense without heading to political job, such silly behavior can be stopped in a day! If a tight FIR and jail is slapped on these guys this could well be last case! But politicians love such incidents for their survival....hindu khathre me hai....just to keep them in power!

The only way to stop our youth being destroyed like this is to make military service mandatory for 3 years. Once they have been there, I am sure these rowdy elements will stop their nonsense. Genuinely would like to see the prowess of these dimwits at the border

Hindu khatre mein hain. So these jobless fellows are worried, instead of being worried how to get a decent job for themselves. If they had a job, they would not be doing such nonsensical activities...and then after few years of carefree joblessness, they are desperate to work in the gulf for pittance salary.
