Vijayapura, Apr 1: Coronavirus pandemic has brutally battered the industrial sector of the country. Many entrepreneurs, who had invested crores of rupees, have suffered major setbacks. As the entrepreneurs just started breathing after the removal of lockdown, the second wave has hit harder than the first. The number of deaths is increasing both due to the second wave of Covid as well as indirect deaths due to the financial crunch.
In a similar incident entrepreneur of Mangaluru origin Ganesh, who used to own Amar Hotel at Indi in the district, killed himself as he suffered huge losses in business due to coronavirus pandemic.
It is said that he had taken a loan of Rs 30 lac to run the hotel. He was finding it difficult to pay the interest on the loan. At the same time, the business of the hotel was also down after the pandemic according to the suspicion of the police.
Indi city police station personnel did the spot inspection and registered a case in this connection.
