Mangaluru, Mar 30: Miscreants barged into a mosque at Farangipete and assaulted a priest late night on Monday March 29.
Mustaq, a resident of Kundapur is the priest of Birul Vaalidain mosque located at Farangipete-Ammemaar road who was assaulted by the miscreants.
It is said that at around 12 am, three men barged into the mosque and assaulted Mustaq who was sleeping on the second floor of the building. Mustaq managed to escape from the miscreants and save himself. Mustaq hurt his leg in a bid to escape. He was treated at a private hospital.
Bantwal town police station registered a case.
The act of the miscreants was captured in the CCTV cameras of the mosque.
