Bantwal: Forest officials seize lorry carrying wood without permit, arrest driver

Bantwal, Mar 29: Forest officials of Manglauru on Monday, March 29 arrested an accused in Mukka, Suratkal who was illegally carrying lacs worth of wood and transporting it in a lorry. 

The arrested man has been identified as Sarfaraz. The goods and the vehicle that is together are worth Rs 2 lac was confiscated by the officials.

The wood was being transported without a permit. The arrest was made by the assistant zonal forest officer, Krishna, Vinay Kumar, Mohan, Somana Gowda Patil and Sunil BC under guidance from zonal forest officer Sridhar P.

Zonal forest officer, Sridhar P is conducting a further probe under directions from DCF Karikalan and ACF Subrahmanya Rao.    

A case has been registered in this connection.
