Panaji: Police book man for rape of minor

Panaji, Mar 29: Kumar Naik, a native of Karnataka was arrested by the police for raping a minor girl. The police said that Naik stepped inside the bathroom and raped the survivor while she was taking bath.

The incident had taken place in June, last year but Naik is said to have had threatened the survivor against reporting it. When she finally told her mother about the incident, she filed a complaint against Naik.

A case has been registered under various sections of the Goa Children's Act and the Pocso Act. As per the directives of the Supreme Court, the victim's identity has been protected.
