A meeting with the participation of the CM, ministers concerned and in-charge ministers will be held today to discuss steps to stop the surging coronavirus infection in its tracks.
Sudhakar said that there has been phenomenal rise in the number of corona cases in Maharashtra and the next seven to eight weeks are crucial in which stringent steps have to be taken as per instructions received from the technical advisory committee. He added that there is strict instruction from the centre not to close the state's borders. The minister pointed out that four weeks back, day-to-day cases in the state were 300 where now they have risen to 3,000. He felt that the measures so far taken are not sufficient. He felt that there is a need to have control over the people coming into the city and reaching the state from other states. He said he has already held discussions with the home minister and a suitable decision will be taken after bringing the same to the attention of the CM.
