Udupi, Mar 26: A 30-year-old man killed himself by jumping off the fourth floor of an apartment near the city bus in Mattadabettu, Udupi on Friday, March 26.

The deceased has been identified as Uttam Nayak, an owner of the petrol bunk. Nayak married just four months ago. The reason why Nayak took this extreme step is yet to be ascertained.

The incident was reported under the limits of the Udupi town police station.

It is learnt that Uttam was residing along with his parents and wife in Mumbai. 

His mortal remains have been kept in the mortuary at the district hospital in Ajjarkad.

Social worker Nithyananda Olakadu and the locals helped in shifting the body to the mortuary.
