Panaji, Mar 26: Water resources of the state such as springs, lakes, and wells are being mapped taluk wise and soon the location of all the water bodies in the state would be available in Google maps. The announcement was made on Wednesday March 24 budget and added that one would be able to track the locations using a QR code.

Chief minister Pramod Sawant said that the government is also in the process of revisiting its existing state water policy that was formulated in 2000. While reframing the policy, various environmental aspects and new water conservation concepts would be taken into consideration, Sawant said.

The chief minister further added that the policy will be implemented from this year and desilting of all major dams in the state including the Selaulim, Anjunem and Tillari would be taken up to enhance their water carrying capacity.
