Kundapur, Mar 25: "As the cases of Covid-19 infections are rising further, stringent safety measures are being undertaken. Already three educational institutions in the district are found to have coronavirus infection. Suitable action is taken to prevent this infection from spreading. The Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI) and Deputy Director of Pre-University Board (DDPU) have been informed to take precautions to prevent the incidents of coronavirus in educational institutions. If violation of coronavirus protocol is found in educational institutions, suitable action will be taken on headmaster or principal," said G Jagadeesha, DC of the district.
DC Jagadeesha
Speaking to the media here on Thursday, March 25 the DC said, "It is important to give stress to online classes over offline. But as exams are underway now, we need to take precautions. We have already held campaigns to create awareness among the public to wear masks, maintain social distance and slap a fine if the coronavirus protocol is violated. As of now, there are no plans to announce lockdown. If violation of coronavirus norms or gathering of more people than specified is seen, strict action will be taken on the violators."
"Coronavirus guidelines are to be followed compulsorily in temples. Kollur temple fair will take place with religious rituals. There is no opportunity for devotees to partake in the festivity," Jagadeesha said.
"District administration is prepared to deal with the situation even if 400 cases of infection are reported every day. A good response has been witnessed in the administration of vaccines in the district," he added.
