Bengaluru, Mar 23: As the academic year for 2020-21 has undergone a change, it has been decided to conduct annual examinations for students studying in standards 1 to 9 by May end. The result which usually was announced on April 14, will now be announced in the second week of June. The department of public instruction has also cut down on the number of examinations for these children.
Now physical classes are being held from 6th to SSLC classes. Others are getting education through online, television and YouTube channels. The government this time has laid emphasis on activity based studies. The marks pooled by the students in online classes, Vidyagama programme and Samveda TV classes will be taken at the time of examination and evaluation work.
Previously, four tests were conducted annually for students from first to ninth standards. Then half yearly examinations and annual examinations were conducted. This year, only two tests and the annual examination will be conducted. Already one test was conducted in April and another will be conducted during April end. The annual exams will be held from May end to June first week. Results of the first to ninth standards will be published during second week of June. For the SSLC students, test will be conducted in the third week of April and the valuation of four project works till April end. Preparatory exams will be conducted during May second week, it is learnt.
