Corona second wave has begun in Karnataka: Health minister Sudhakar

Bengaluru, Mar 21 (IANS): Citing rising cases over the last 10 days, Karnataka Health Minister K. Sudhakar on Sunday said second wave of Covid had begun in the state and urged people to follow guidelines to contain its spread.

"As we are at the beginning of the second wave of coronavirus across the state, I appeal to the people to strictly follow Covid guidelines and remain safe," he told reporters on the sidelines of an event here.

Sudhakar's admission came as the state health bulletin on Saturday said 1,798 cases were registered on Friday, taking the state's tally to 9.68 lakh, including 12,828 active cases.

As the epicentre of the pandemic in the state, Bengaluru reported 1,186 cases, taking its Covid tally to 4,16,633, including 9,044 active cases.

"The state technical advisory committee of experts has told us (government) to control certain activities to prevent the pandemic from spreading further. I will discuss the panel's advice with Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa on Monday and the additional steps to be taken to control the situation," said Sudhakar, who is a medical doctor by profession.

"The panel has also warned that people will be in trouble if they continue to violate guidelines like wearing mask, maintaining physical distancing, washing hands and avoid going out unless essential to stay away from public places," he added.

In view of the upcoming by-elections on April 17 to 1 Lok Sabha and 2 Assembly seats, the minister said an all-party meeting would be called to discuss on following the Election Commission's guidelines to be safe.

The Chief Minister also urged the people to wear mask and maintain social distancing, while the government has also issued advertisements to create awareness on complying with the guidelines.

Dear Karnataka Health Minister K. Sudhakar, you are advising the public to wear masks and to keep social distance. but your dear colleagues/ ministers are not allowing the public to follow your guidelines, by inviting the big big rally's. Can you please book these ministers immediately. Also please ban all rallies, election public gatherings, processions etc... for 6 months. you will find the difference.

This is an eye opener article by Mike Adams at cairnsnews.org on how globalists using virus, vaccine generated strains, to decimate much population, following few excerpts, for more refer link, ... "The end goal, as globalists like Bill Gates openly support, is the elimination of billions of human beings living today. Ideally, globalists seek to reduce the world population to about 500 million people, which is roughly a 94% reduction in the current human population."... Thus, people won’t be dropping dead right away after taking the vaccines. Instead, they will seem fine until the next major bioweapon pandemic hits them, at which point the fatality rate will be extremely high (perhaps as high as 75% averaged across all age groups). The next strain to be released via the vaccines will be COVID-21, and the COVID-21 strain could be rightly considered the second half of a binary weapon system that will achieve extremely high kill rates for human beings across the globe.... Surendra Poojari, I think you should read my comment to understand rather than to reply. I never told what politicians are doing during campaigning is right. So, stop assuming things you nincompoop. I am apolitical. I don't support BJP, Congress or any other party. You bringing up festivals and giving a communal angle is what I opposed.

Adarsh..so you support politicians not following social distancing norms? If they don't follow, then why they need to come up with strict measures during festive season????

The so called "positive" cases are increasing does not mean "infection" is increasingly- finding virus on swabs indicate "colonization" not infection. Also the death rate has decreased drastically. It is time to say bye-bye corona.Take some basic precautions, but do not fear or panic.Be Happy, Be Healthy.

Surendra Poojari, That's the most illogical comment I have ever seen. Cases are rising, almost 2000 cases per day. If you remember, people dies without getting hospitals back when Covid was at its peak in Bangalore. The same will happen if people continue with the careless attitude they are showing now. We are already in a tough time. Please don't make it worse by adding a communal angle to each and every news. You seriously need help.

Adarsh and J. Anata....politicians when they go for campaigning without masks its OK right? How many examples you need? When they go for any program they never wear masks..so that is OK? Only when festivals come they wake up. This is the failure of government. When PM Modi said stay at homes and ring the bells what people did? Stupid people gathered in the evening without social distancing. Still you people are not understanding and Adarsh you need help and not me. I know the mentality of these stupid politicians whether it's BJP or Congress all same. For you guys whatever BJP guys say it's right. Hope not forgotten CD King Jarkiholi.
