Beltangady: Alleged indifference by KSRTC bus staff, passengers costs man's life

Daijiworld Media Network - Beltangady (MS)

Beltangady, Mar 21: In a heart-wrenching incident, a man who was travelling by a KSRTC bus died allegedly after the bus driver, conductor and passengers showed indifference and failed to rush him to hospital.

The deceased person is a native of Haryana. His daughter is studying in SDM College, Ujire here and stays in hostel.

The man had come to visit his daughter and after meeting her, was going back by KSRTC bus when the tragic incident took place.

While in the bus, the man developed chest pain all of a sudden. However, instead of taking him to hospital or calling for an ambulance, he was made to get down and sit in the bus stand at Ujire. The bus left after leaving him in that condition. The person died there itself.

If the passengers, driver and conductor of the bus had shown some sympathy and taken him to a nearby hospital probably the person would have been saved, say locals.

P.P.Yusuff,Uppala,here atleast a first aid course should be absolved before you go to do your driving licence. You get a certificate before you start. How it is in India dont know.In case of emergency they are bound to give first aid care.otherwise will be charged.

First Aid kit is available( I have seen box in bus but dont know the contents are there inside) in every bus and it is mandatory as per act. Then comes the main question is that Driver and conductor is aware of the FA treatment in case of emergency?? Concerned, pls look into this and do the needful. Tragic part is that an innocent person lost life due to negligence.

This is the sad state of our country, where there surely are instance of good Samaritans, their acts get over shadowed by such people. People are least bothered about the other and are getting wicked by the day.

Such an incident can happen with anyone. Only the grieving family knows the pain and the difficulty they go thru. Sad nobody in the bus came forward to help the victims when he was made to get down from the bus. How can we stop such incidents I can't understand.

If he has a valid ticket and the incident took place in the bustand it's the responsibility of KSRTC. They have to pay compensation to the deceased.

Ozy Surathkal ,if a man had a valid ticket or not is not important here.I am sure he had a ticket.Noone will allow to travel without it.Important was here a mans life .They had the responsibilty of taking some steps when one feels sick in their vehicle.Should have asked him or call simply take the bus to a police station and go later on their way. They should be charged of neglecting their passengers health .and so causing his death.May his soul rest in peace. At present looks like we have lost humanity and heart.I advice to all Bus managers ,to give a thorough first aid and important health instructions before they become a job.

Shame to the driver and conductor of the bus, who made the sick to letdown from the bus. Also passengers acted dumb deaf and blind. At least for humanity sake informed the police or called the ambulance. Is their conscious accept their act. May his soul rest in peace.

We have turned into an insensitive lot. Even when accidents take place on the roads, the victims are left bleeding and the people, instead of helping them, take their pictures on their mobiles and take pride in forwarding them. There is nothing left of humanity.

Indifference is very dangerous. I have experienced it when I was travelling from Shivamogga once. Bus conductor and other travelers treated a heart patient who was collapsing as drunkard. But driver was kind. When conductor asked driver to stop the bus to push patient out from the bus, driver stopped and personally checked the patient and took him to nearby hospital. Its time to be more sensitive and compassionate around us.

First and foremost duty binds to treat this poor fellow is of driver and cinductor and then passengers. His is really a bad luck.... not a single good Samaritan was there in that bus ? Useless to think ...his life span was only that much....Now cannot do anything...Really very painful. May the departed soul of this gentleman man rest in peace. Condolences to his bereaved family near and dear ones 🙏

Inhuman! KSRTC staff needs training on humanity aspects. Even flights often land unscheduled to save passengers life. KSRTC proved bigger the air carriers!
