Bhatkal JMFC court orders search after complaints that police confiscated two tippers

Bhatkal, Mar 18: The JMFC court ordered a search of Bhatkal town police station premises for two tipper lorries on Wednesday after receiving a report from the court commission. The report was based on the private complaint that police personnel has kept two tipper lorries in their custody illegally without registering any complaint.

Kundapur lawyer N S R Bhat gave details of the incident to news reporters on Wednesday evening. Mohammed Farhan Shabandri, a resident of Navayatha colony was using the tippers at Siddik street on January 7 when police officials who came to the spot allegedly took away both the tippers without reason. Police kept the tippers with them without registering a complaint. The victim had complained to the court to take legal action against the suspects and reimburse the loss suffered by him.

The court in turn appointed a court commission. It subsequently considered the report from the commission lawyer and ordered to search the police station premises and produce both the vehicles in front of the court.
