Udupi: 22-year-old youth dies from drowning in Papanashini river

Udupi, Mar 15: In a tragic incident, a 22-year-old Shirva resident died from drowning in the Papanashini river on the afternoon of Monday, March 15. The incident took place in the Kaup police station limits. 

The deceased has been identified as Sumanth Kulal, who had gone to pick seashells on the banks of the rivulet along with two of his uncles.

One of the men named Santhosh, who was trying to save Sumanth from drowning was rescued by the locals. 

Police sources stated that the search for Sumanth's body is in progress.
