Mysuru, Mar 15: Leader of the opposition in the assembly and former chief minister, Siddaramaiah, clarified that the Congress can never enter into any alliance or understanding with the JD(S) henceforth.
He was speaking to media persons in the city on Sunday March 14. "Irrespective of what Kumaraswamy says or claims, I am telling you conclusively. We will not enter into any kind of understanding with the JD(S)," he asserted.
"Even for Mysuru milk Union election or other issues, we do not want any kind of alliance with the JD(S). Elections to cooperative societies are not conducted on the basis of symbols, and candidates enter into local level understanding. Even in such cases, we will not support the JD(S)," he said. He also added that he has remained away from election matters and that in his political life, he has decided not to meddle with unwanted elections.
On the issue of reservation, he blamed the state government for lacking in clarity. He felt that there is a need to discuss the issue with constitutional experts and seek their advice. He said he has already given his suggestion to the chief minister that the National Backward Classes Commission has to make public its stand on the issue of reservations.
